About us
Central United Reformed Church is part of the Yorkshire Province of the United Reformed Church.
The United Reformed Church was formed by the joining of the Congregational and Presbyterian churches and later, the Churches of Christ.
Our Church has been in Sheffield much longer than our modern building suggests; a church was founded on the current site in 1714 and the building you see today was opened in 1971.
The people who make up the membership of Central come from all parts of Sheffield and all walks of life. We come to worship here and to hear more about God, our world and our part within in. We are learning how we should live our lives and help others from day to day.
Central is open seven days a week and tries to serve the many people who live and work in the City Centre. We are always looking for different ways of serving the community and would welcome fresh ideas and new faces!
